Costing by gut feeling

In the quote you allowed 30 hours for that fitted cupboard. After fitting it you feel it took more, but how much more? One craftsman worked on it for two days, another pitched in between two other orders, and fitting took longer because the wall wasn't straight.

Orders as projects

Every order is a project with an hours budget, e.g. 36:00 worked of 50:00, so 72%. You see along the way whether the quote holds.

Tasks per step

Add preparation, making, finishing and fitting as tasks under the order. Whoever taps the timer picks the right task.

Drag and drop

The schedule shows who works on which order and when, by day, week or month. If a delivery moves, drag the tasks to another day or another employee.

A made-up example: a joinery with a workshop and two fitting crews.

Monday

In the workshop two joiners start on the Declercq family kitchen project. A fitting crew heads out to a job and starts the timer on the phone.

Wednesday

A joiner falls ill. The schedule shows which tasks need rescheduling, and the owner drags them to a colleague.

Thursday

A fitting runs until 18:45. That day differs from the fixed schedule and goes to the owner for review.

Friday

The kitchen order is at 41:00 of a 50:00 budget, with half a day of fitting to go. It holds, just.

Fixed hours, part-timers and overtime

A workshop usually runs on a fixed schedule. In Finito you set that per employee, along with full-time or part-time, contract hours and a daily and weekly limit. If someone moves from 4/5 to full-time, the new arrangement gets a start date and past months stay correct.

When people work longer, the owner reviews that day: overtime, flexitime, additional hours or no overtime. Overtime is tracked to the minute under Belgian rules, and time off in lieu comes off the balance automatically. Your social secretariat calculates overtime pay and premiums. What changes in 2027?

The federal government wants every employer to record working time from 1 January 2027. Under the preliminary draft there's a transition period until the end of March 2027. No method is mandatory: an app is enough if the system is objective, reliable and accessible. The final text isn't settled yet. Ask your social secretariat what it means for your workshop.
