Finito for architectsFrom first sketch to handover, hour by hour.
A building project runs for months, sometimes years. Design, permit, construction documents, site follow-up: hours run across all those phases. Finito tracks them per project, so afterwards you know whether the fee covered the time.
30 days free, no meeting or credit card needed. Then from €8 per user per month.

The fee is fixed, the hours aren't
Many architects agree the fee up front, as a percentage or a fixed amount. The hours you put in are never fixed. A client who changes their mind about the kitchen three times, a permit application that comes back with comments, a contractor with questions on site: it all adds up.
If you don't track it, you only find out at handover that a project actually lost money. Solid time tracking for an architecture practice tells you along the way, while you can still do something.
One project, four phases
A made-up example: the Lindenlaan House project, a new build for a family. Each phase gets its own task under the project.
Design
Sketches, meetings with the client, revisions. The designer starts the timer on the Design task and switches when moving on to something else.
Permit
Drawings, application and the questions that follow. If the application comes back with comments, you see how many extra hours that costs.
Construction documents
Detail drawings, specifications, comparing quotes. This is where hours often run over most, and where you see the budget move fastest.
Site follow-up
Site meetings and site visits. The timer runs on the phone too, so on site you just start it there and stop it in the car.
What a practice with a few architects needs
Budget per project
Give each project an hours budget. You see straight away where you stand, e.g. 36:00 of 50:00, so 72%. On a project that runs for years, that's the difference between adjusting course and sighing afterwards.
Planning across projects
Who's working on which job this week? The schedule shows it by day, week or month. If someone falls ill, you see which tasks need rescheduling and drag them to a colleague.
Part-time and fixed schedules
For each employee you set the right arrangement: full-time, 4/5, contract hours, daily and weekly limit. Each arrangement gets a start date, so past months stay correct when someone changes arrangement.
A trail of every change
Every change to hours stays visible in the log. If you ever need to show how much time went into a job, it's all there.
Site days that run long
A site meeting at half past seven, then a client at six in the evening. A day like that differs from the schedule. In Finito the owner reviews that day and chooses: overtime, flexitime, additional hours or no overtime. Overtime is tracked to the minute under Belgian rules, and time off in lieu taken later comes off the balance automatically. More on overtime and flexitime.
Finito doesn't calculate overtime pay or premiums. Your social secretariat does that, based on the payroll export you send after closing the month.
And what about the registration obligation?
From 1 January 2027 the federal government wants every employer to record working time. Under the preliminary draft there's a transition period until the end of March 2027. No method is imposed. What exactly ends up in the final law isn't settled yet. Ask your social secretariat what it means for your practice.

Frequently asked questions
Can I track phases like design and permit separately?
Add them as separate tasks under the project. Your team starts the timer on the right task, so you see where the hours went.
Does the timer work on site too?
Yes. The timer runs on phone and computer. Start it at the office and carry on from your phone on site.
What happens to the hours of an employee who leaves?
They're archived, never deleted. The hours are kept, also for projects that run for years.
Does Finito connect to my CAD or accounting software?
No, there are no integrations. You can export everything whenever you like, and the owner gets an automatic export by email every month.
